Kids say the darndest things

This is an update. I hope you enjoy it. There's not really much new to tell you. I went to work today and now I'm tired. I can tell you one of the stories from work today. There was one little guy who was watching the older kids play dodgeball only to get totally smacked in the side of the face with one of the balls. He was a brave little guy until no one was looking at him any more and as soon as the attention was off of him he was upset. Later when being picked up he reported to his father that he got hit in the head, in which I confirmed had happened. Followed by telling his father, "I also got hit in the ball sack". I was dumb-founded and was like, "Ah....I don't know about that one and where did you hear that word??" In which he responded So and So "said it". (He used the other child's name). Yikes, what kids say! Never leaves a dull moment in our day that's for sure.

Well, that's about all to report for now.
Until next time,
Michelle

Mexico here we come

Only 3 more sleeps until I head to Mexico. I am excited. I've always wanted to go but just never have been. I secretly hope we can go into the heart of Mexico. See the people. We are going to be staying at an all inclusive resort. A first for both B and I. Don't know what to expect but we are so excited and can hardly wait.

Last night we had a scuba lesson and that was a lot of fun. I got a little frazzled because there was a lot of information being thrown at me and I wasn't able to absorb it all. My frazzleness didn't really show until the instructor started doing things for me, or demonstrating on my equipment and then "wahla" it's done. Well, I'm a hands on learner so having something done for me doesn't help me at all. I was frazzled because I love to learn and I wasn't feeling like I was learning anything. I was hearing a lot of words, but they didn't mean anything to me. Does that make sense? It was just frustrating. B who knows me well could tell I was getting frustrated and helped me along. What a great husband!!!

But once we were under water we had so much fun. I have to learn to breath through my mouth for both inhaling and exhaling...haha. I would inhale through my mouth and then breath out with my nose which would cause issues. But it was fun none-the-less. Lots of things to learn, but I could imagine doing it in the ocean and I was excited.

I'm excited to be going on a vacation. I don't know what to expect but I hope to have many stories to tell when I get back. And new pictures to
share.

I just heard on the TV (A baby Story), "we had to leave the hospital without the babies, we felt so empty handed." Duh! You are leaving without anything in your hands. I just love when people state the obvious and expect you didn't know it. Just funny.

Well until next time

Yelping in the Sun

Don't ask me what the title is suppose to mean because it was just random words that came out of my mind and I wrote them down. I wanted to call it TGIF but realized that I have a few blog updates with that title already so I made up a new title.

I am so happy it's Friday. I love working with the kids, but a day like today I feel like I need a weekend. Because of my training I have all the children with behaviour issues pushed my way and today was no exception. I seemed to have to break up more fights than usual and pull children out of the activities (also known as time-outs) at a more frequent rate. It was exhausting. I was actually happy that going home to a quiet house was my reality. I even took the scenic route home and enjoyed my ride.

Funny comment of today: "Michelle why are you wearing your jacket?" "Well, it's more like a sweater and I wear it because I like it" "But I want to see what you're wearing" It sounds so lame writing it out but it was so funny at the time.

Working with 3-6 year olds really is a confidence booster though. I have many marriage proposal's. An average of 3 a week. I also get told on a daily basis if I allow them to do something (they know they're not allowed to do) than they will be my best friend. My response? "I already have a best friend and you still can't do that" haha. I'm so mean! But this job really makes me happy. I definitely made the right career choice.

Just a little Quirky

I am the queen of quirky! I love being quirky, but sometimes it just makes me awkward. I don't when exactly it started, but I occasionally find myself socially awkward. I don't know what to say or don't want to say the wrong thing so I end up fidgeting and saying weird things.

A quirk I came across the other day was amusing, funny and strange. B and I were having a discussion about something and I didn't know how to respond. So while he was in the washroom I went and turned everything in our place off. The TV, the computer, and all the lights. I just sat there in the dark. It definitely broke the ice and we were able to complete our conversation with a few chuckles to boot. I don't know why I'm so quirky and I don't know where I picked it up from.

But there you have it. I am your quirky friend which in turn I think makes you a little quirky too.

Almost another week

Hello my dear friends. It's me, Michelle. The last couple of days have been hectic. I decided that I really wanted to practice making some decorated cupcakes. You see in June I have to make a cake for a bridal shower, and knowing that the bride to be doesn't read this blog I feel pretty safe talking about it without the fear of her finding out. Anyways, I won't give too much info in case someone that does read this is at risk at spilling the beans. So I will tell you a little, but not much. Does that make sense? Anyways, I wanted to practice making icing flowers. Fondant flowers and myself go way back to my wedding cake. But buttercream icing and I have never been introduced. So I loaded myself up with some tutorial videos on my dear friend YouTube.com. My sister introduced me to a cake master on there that goes by the name, "Serious Cakes". She is an amazing teacher and she just does it for fun. No charge for giving tips to fellow cake makers. She's witty and funny in her comments.

In the last 2 days I've made over 60 cupcakes and a cake. I have about 13 cupcakes left and I don't want to ice them because they are having issues coming out of the cupcake holders. So what's the point in decorating a cupcake that falls apart. No point in my opinion. The first 30 cupcakes were to get use to my new icing tips. To play around and learn some new techniques. The second batch of 30 cupcakes and a cake were made for B's work bake sale. They were raising funds and awareness for the children's helpline. I was embarrassed at my work because the icing was really soft and not sitting right. I was frustrated while working with it, occasionally having a Julie and Julia meltdown. I didn't lay down on the floor, but I did have to walk out of the kitchen a couple of times.

Until next time

Happy Easter

Sunday was a lot of fun. We went to church to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord. Afterwards we went for a little Sunday drive to check out some houses we have been scoping out. After that we came home and did a few things around the house. Don't ask me what they are because I don't remember. I remember wanting to have a nap and then I put our wedding photo's into an album. That's right, that's what I did. Then we went over to B's parents house for Easter Dinner. It was delicious!!! So yummy!! And great times with the family. Everyone had gone out to the fire except for me and B's Grandma. We stayed inside and had a great conversation. That's about all to report for now. Until next time

Good Friday Recap

Hi, I just wanted to update because of the lack of updates. I feel as maybe I can catch up...but I hardly think that's going to happen. So I'll tell you about my yesterday. Having not to work on a Friday really threw me off. All day long I thought it was Saturday. I was confused when my Saturday morning cartoons/shows weren't on to enjoy....and kind of upset that they weren't. (Littlest Hobo anyone?) Anyways, after I got over it and started enjoying the thought of an extra day off we (as in B and I) did a few things around our place and then got ready to go for lunch with a couple of friends of ours..I've talked about them before....we refer to them as D and A or D N A. We all went out for sushi and it was delicious! I love sushi! When we got our lunch I was surprised at how large the lunch box special was.

After lunch we headed to the Canadian hot-spot (Tim Hortons) and picked up some tea for our shopping trip in the big O'l Walmart. We spent a couple of hours in that store, we didn't really have an agenda and so we ended up wasting a lot of time..but it was so worth it. There were many laughing moments. B and I have a whistle that
we do to find each other when we get separated in a store and at one point I used it and found Amy instead. Then both Amy and I had wandered away from the boys and used this same technique to find them but instead we found a pre-teen who thought he was so funny for answering our whistle. We both laughed because we had followed the whistle all over the place.

When Shopping was finished we took D N A home and headed home ourselves to complete one of many projects that are on the go. Then we headed over to my Dad's place to go for dinner. D N A joined us. We all went to White Spot for dinner. For the record, I enjoyed my dinner. As for everyone else...I think there were only 2 other people who had their meals right. It seemed a lot of things had gone wrong and in the end we had a discounted bill. We had gone through 3 servers, one of which didn't tell us she was leaving a
nd being replaced. 2 people didn't get the side they ordered and when it did come out you could tell it had been under the heat lamps for a good 20 mins or more. It started out great! The mood was set with silliness that our server jumped right into with both feet, but as soon as he had to go and transfer the table it went downhill. Thanks a lot Jake! haha. Yes that was our servers name and next time I might ask for him by name to be our server. He is very fun! I won't mention the other girl's name, but our end server I felt bad for because he walked into a big o'l mess and he was the one that had to deal with it. I've been there, it's not a fun place to be.

So we called it a night and went home. Once home B and I put in the movie Toy Story 2, but I only made it so far and then I went to la la land and that my friends is what my Good Friday looked like. I hope you had a great one too!!!

Until later,
Michelle

It's Friday again!

Wow, it's been a week since I last updated. I had started a few different updates but just ran out of time to finish them, and then when I would come back to it, it just sounded dumb, or incomplete. Or I would just come up with something else to write about, but alas, nothing got printed and I left you in a dry spell.

Last Sunday I was surprised with some of the events that came to be. After church B and I went to my dad's place to see if they (my Dad, brother and his fiance) would like to join us for lunch. When I mentioned this they seemed a little bit surprised by my request. This was odd and when I asked it was brought to my attention that there was a bbq happening that afternoon that I was to be at. I was like, What?! Both Becky and Cam looked at each other and said, "You didn't tell her?" I was like, yikes! So I worked that into our afternoon plans...but before this came another surprise. My mom was going to be there too. WHAT?! She wasn't suppose to come in until Thursday and she is staying at OUR house! So B a
nd I skipped lunch and went straight home to get it ready for a house guest. Whew! Then we had to scrap all our afternoon plans and make room for our new afternoon. A little stressful to say the least, but definitely worth it. So yeah, hence the lack of updates.

My neck is still really sore. I went for a massage
therapy appointment and she said I must return soon. She doesn't always say this, but it's still really sore and I am thankful that I have this re
source available to me.

It's good Friday and I am so happy. I love this time of year! I'll do another update soon to tell about our day because it was a great one! Until
next time

Michelle
