Life tinkers on

The little man is sleeping so I thought I would take this moment to do an update.  Things are going along nicely.  Yesterday was my little sister's birthday (she's actually my sister in law).  That was fun.  We took Kiwi with us and he got passed around a lot, which I didn't mind because I actually got to eat my dinner -hot!  I have yet to eat a meal that's suppose to be hot, cold though.  I try to strategize my meals for when he's sleeping, so far it is working but that might not be a forever thing.  In fact I know it won't be, but it works for now.

I have heard from the surgeons office.  I don't know if I mentioned that on here before.  I have looked into surgery for my snoring.  I have tried all the other non-invasive routes and none of them work for me so surgery is the next step.  I talked to my doctor only a couple of weeks ago and she referred me but told me I most likely won't hear from them until October.  Here it's still August and I have an appointment in two weeks to see him and take the next step.  I am looking forward to becoming a non-snorer.  Also it will help erase the problem of sleep apnea (when you stop breathing in your sleep) which will also be a super bonus!  I'm so hoping I'm a candidate!

In this picture I'm using my moby wrap - in my opinion this is a must have. Kiwi falls asleep within 5 minutes any time he's put in it
Enough about me though, back to Kiwi.  I am so in love with this little guy.  He is really into his jolly jumper (even though he can barely see out of it since he's still so small).  He loves to wiggle all the time!  And he's started kicking his legs up in a motion that makes his body turn so he's been doing 360's on his playmat for about a week now.  He's definitely smart in that he knows how to manouver his body to get it to move.  His cries have been distinctive since pretty much the first week.  His coughing cry means he's hungry, his cry that reminds me of Waluigi from mario kart is his tired cry and his scream is saved for when he's in pain (I've only heard it twice).  He loves to coo and in the last two weeks he's started the deep throat sound like a gurgle talk and thinks it's hilarious when I try to do it back to him.

Oh it looks like he's waking up so I better go.  Until next time

Hello again

Oops I forgot I had a blog and I have not updated in a long time.  It has been 3 weeks since I last updated and seriously a lot of it has been a blur.  I know there has been a lot of laundry in there because there has been a serious increase in laundry since Kiwi came along.  My cousin from out East came to visit and it was so nice to visit with her.

We also did our first over the border trip to the states with Kiwi.  It was so much fun.  Every evening we went down to the pool and he loved it!  I was so excited that he was happy in the pool and not a screamer because I am in fact a fish and I love to be in the water.  I had to buy a special swimming diaper for him because they don't make the disposable swimmers in his size.  The smallest size for them is 18 pounds and well he's still 5 pounds away from that so we got him a reusable cloth swimmer and it is super duper cute with dinosaurs on it.  However you couldn't even see it because it was under his full body swimsuit that is so very adorable as well!  Our trip overall was so fun.  We did a lot of shopping and a morning in the park where we watched a triathlon take place.  Well, the final moments of it where they run to the finish line. Very exciting.

Kiwi did a great job travelling.  He slept the first 4 hours of the trip.  When he woke up he was super hungry so we stopped for over an hour to let him eat and have lunch ourselves.  Then the last 3 hours I rode in the back of the car with him  (he was being fussy) but as soon as I was back there with him he was smiling and laughing and cooing and it was fun.  He stayed up for the entire time.  We ended up taking a wrong turn and found ourselves in a short cut to our destination so it was actually a great mess up.  Coming home Kiwi travelled really well again.  He slept for the first 3 hours and then we stopped for lunch and got him some food. Than he fell asleep again shortly after and we only had to stop on one other occasion to give him a snack and then we were on our way again.  Super traveller!

B and I celebrated our 3rd year anniversary yesterday.  We went for dinner to Earls on Top, overlooking the lake on the patio.  We took Kiwi with us and I had dressed him up in his onesie that has a tie on it.  He was very stylin!  After diner we got some ice-cream and went for a walk through the park.  After our walk we headed to camp to see some friends who are in town and then came home.  It was a fun evening.  The last 3 years have been packed with adventures and I am looking forward to see what is yet to come. To sum it up we have been to Flordia (Disney World), California (Disneyland), Mexico, Sicily, Scottland, England, many camping and road trips, we bought a house and had a baby all in that short time.  I know I'm missing some other things but I believe those are the majority of the large events.  And there is nobody I would rather have this adventure called life with than B!

Kiwi is sleeping.  I did his bedtime routine this evening.  That's usually B's position but his boss is in town and his one co-worker is celebrating being able to walk again (he had broken his leg in like 5 places during a skiing accident) so he went out to hang out with them this evening at a fire.  So I was in charge of bed time routine tonight.  It seems to be helping Kiwi figure things out, he's been getting longer and longer sleeps through the night since we started the routine.  He eats, has a bath, eats a snack, has a little bit of interaction time (song/story/or talking) and then goes to sleep.  There was one other time I did his bed time routine and he just did not like the adjustment to having mommy do it.  He didn't laugh during his bath and only smiled twice (he loves his bath so this was odd).  Tonight however he was talking up a storm and laughing and being his normal self even though it was thrown off with me doing bath time.  Woot!

Well that's enough of an update for now.  Until next time
Michelle
