Spring has sprung

Today is Thursday. Only 4 1/2 more days of spring break and then I head back to work. I am actually looking forward to the new kids that I will be working with and learning a whole new bag of tricks. A little tricky but so rewarding when you figure out each childs quirks (because we all know they all have some).

My sister and her kids moved in with us last week. It's a learning curve on it's own and so exciting and fun. It's one full house now. Lots of excitement and noise..haha.

I am so excited that there are flowers actually popping out of the ground in my gardens (I have 3 gardens in the front yard). Which means I planted the bulbs the right way. Something I was wondering if I did correctly over the winter. But now that they are actually sprouting is exciting. I hope they all survived the very long, drawn out winter. I am going out this afternoon to get some soil and some flowers that only last through the summer...the non-bulb type. Don't ask me what they are called but they are like pansy's. Weird...I'm taking after my dad. He is the flower man.

It's funny this is something I bug B about because before we were married he had one plant that was barely hanging on. After we got married he started collecting plants and flowers. I bugged him that he was starting to take after my dad. "I've married my father" I would shout! After he brought his 10th flower home from the store. Our patio was full of flowers last summer. And now that we live in a house we have so much more room to expand our flower garden...the only thing is this year I have the flower bug.

Well, until next time
Happy Spring! -new life new beginnings-

Spring Break brings changes

It's Wednesday and I have a huge to-do list today. But instead of jumping right to it I insist on procrastinating. It's weird because I am actually excited to get my to-do list completed and yet I put it off. Weird I say, weird.

Anyways this week so far has been a good one. Monday B and I got our house re-arranged for some house guests that are coming. Normally we don't re-arrange the order of the house but for these house guests we will. They are coming for a minim
um of 3 months and I am sooo excited! Than Tuesday I did a bit of spring cleaning around the house. This may seem boring but it makes me feel good, therefore it's not boring.

I am really looking forward to spring. I noticed today that there was frost on the ground when I woke up. Darn, I thought because I am eager to plant some pretty flowers out front and make our yard look a little more colourful. But alas, it's still too early for that. So I will wait. Maybe next week will be more likely.

Well, until next time,
Enjoying spring break

Weekend fun

Good evening. It's late. I will keep this short and sweet. This weekend was a great one. My hubby and I spent the weekend at The Grand Hotel in Kelowna. It was beautiful and a great get away without going too far. We attended a marriage conference and learned so much and it was fun.

On Friday afternoon we got word that we are going to be having some house guests coming. We are so excited for this and are working hard to get our house in order to accommodate 3 people. It's going to be an adventure and I can hardly wait for it to start.

Well...that's about it for now. Oh yeah, the other day while going through some old boxes I found my diary from when I was 10 years old. Talk about hilarious! I was a funny kid. B says I was a weird kid. In which I retort, nothing has changed. I however, laugh at my younger self.

Until next time
Enjoying spring break

songs for work

I’m a Little Leprechaun (Sing to the tune of I’m a Little Teapot)

I'm a little leprechaun
Dressed in green,
The tiniest man
That you have seen.
If you ever catch me,
so it's told,
I'll give you my big pot of gold.

Sung to: "If You're Happy and You Know It"

If you're wearing green today, dance a jig,
If you're wearing green today, dance a jig,
If you're wearing green today,
Dance a jig, then smile and say,
"Have a very Happy St. Patrick's Day"

Additional verses:
"If you're wearing green today, clap your hands"
"If you're wearing green today, spin around"
"If you're wearing green today, shout "Hurray!""
"If you're wearing green today, stamp your feet"

Sung to: "Skip to my Lou"

Can't, can't, can't Catch me!
Can't, can't, can't Catch me!
Can't, can't, can't Catch me!
For I'm wearing green, you see!

Sung to: "Eensy Weensy Spider"

An eensy, weensy leprechaun
came out St. Patrick's Day
to look for the gold
That was hidden far away.
Over the rainbow
was where he was told
so, with the wink of his green eye,
He ran for the gold.

Sung to: "Who Took The Cookies From The Cookie Jar"

Teacher: Who took the shamrock from the leprechaun? Child’ name took the shamrock from the leprechaun!
Child: Who me?
Class: Yes, you!
Child: Couldn’t be!
Class: Then who?
Child: Child’s name took the shamrock from the leprechaun!

My new friend: You tube tutorial videos

I have a new addiction. It's not a secret addiction because I'm about to tell you what it is. If it was secret I would just leave it there and not disclose what it is. I am addicted to you tube videos. Not just the videos but specific ones. The ones that are about makeup. I love learning from videos because not only are you hearing the examples, but you're seeing it being done in a step by step form. This is not the first time I have become addicted to you tube. I also get focused on videos about cake decorating or hair styles. But this weekend was the learning of making dramatic eyes. So much fun! I feel inspired to play again like I did once upon a time in my teen years and early 20's.

The last couple of days have been filled with walks. Who wouldn't. It's so sunny outside and it's hard to stay inside when the sun shines. Now it's dark though and I really do need to stop procrastinating from the work I need to do tonight. And I really should get it done before 8pm. Why you ask? It's the Bachelor tonight, women tell all! I secretly love watching that show. But I have to tell you since watching it with my cousin it's gotten so much better. We will randomly make it a special kind of bachelor night. There was one night where we both wore dresses with sequins and drank a glass of wine! Probably the best episode ever! Tonight we were going to have a pajama party episode, but that got cancelled due to too much homework(my cousin, not me, cause I don't have homework). And next week for the finale, we are going to get super dressed up and go out for dinner and then watch the show. I am so excited for next Monday evening.

Well, that's my life right now. What does yours look like? Leave a comment and let me know!

Rambling on

Happy Saturday. I am feeling good today. Yesterday was an emotional day again...but today I'm feeling good and I'm going to focus on that. B and I went for coffee with B's mom this morning. It was fun. Than B's mom and I went for a good hearty walk. I really enjoyed it. I really liked that I was able to take my jacket off and not feel cold. It's beautiful outside!

Last night was a rough one for sleep. I've slept 24 hours in the last 48. I don't know why I'm so tired but I am. (And no, I'm not pregnant). And last night I woke up several times because, a)getting punched in the nose -(not on purpose) and b) nightmares and weird dreams. One of the nightmares was very scary and I think it's cause I watched an episode of criminal minds right before bed. Then I had another nightmare that when I went to the doctor to get the results from a very painful test I took, she came in the room and asked me if I was ready to do it again. I woke up almost crying at that point. So I guess those are the things that are on my mind. Crazy and scary.

But other than that this week was a good one. I was sooo happy to go back to work. (I had been off work for a week due to some health issues). It was a great week. It ended on a great note. I am looking forward to next week. I like structure and schedule. It's a good feeling.

Today I am celebrating life in general. Not new life. Just life. I love my hubby and I am really enjoying our new house. I am loving the yard that we have to take care of. And all the possibilities that come with it. I am really excited for the blooms to start revealing themselves. Last fall I planted 72 bulbs and I think it's going to make our front yard pretty. (It's seriously so ugly right now). I am excited for spring to come so I can do some more planting. But I'm too scared to do it yet because there might be another snowfall or two and I don't want to be too eager to get it going, only to have to do it again. I think I am going to do a little outside work today though, because it's soooo nice outside today.

I'm also feeling inspired to go outside and take some pictures. I just have to find something worthy of taking pictures of. I think I see one thing I want to take a picture of...but that's only like 5 pictures worth. Maybe once I get started it will come easily to what else I can capture. I do know I have two rose bushes to cut down. I guess I should get started on that.

Until next time.
Rambling on.....
