The Longest Weekend EVER!!!

Hello to all my loyal fans. Sorry it's been two days since my last post. However, if you read the title you likely put the two and two together. That's right, lack of time. I bet if there were 28 hours in every day instead of just 24 hours I would have been able to put a post up. However, since we are lacking the extra 4 hours there was no time.
Where do I start??? How about Saturday. After I was done working I ran home, got myself together and ran out the door to my friends wedding. Man was that a blast and a half. When I got there no one I knew was there yet. So I, the social butterfly, started hanging out with the bride's cousins and uncles and aunts. (I'm friends with the bride). At one point I was standing by myself looking at some photos and Annette's(the bride) uncle came up and introduced me to one of her cousins. He looked so uncomfortable and he was so shy. Let's just say I was doing all the talking for both of us. haha. I told him, you know, you don't have to entertain me. I'm ok on my own. I found out he was only 16. (His dad was actually trying to set us up.) HAHAHA. 16!!!!! I am going to love it when I'm older. I finally went and sat down with some other people I didn't know. I got to know all of them too. The one lady was the hairdresser. What a nice lady. For a wedding gift she did all the girls hair for free. What a nice gift. If I was talented in this area that's what I would do for all my friends. However, since I really only know how to do one hairstyle everyone's wedding albums would look too similar. haha. Finally one of my co-workers showed up. YAY for JAY!!(this is a girl...her name is Jen..but we all call her Jay). Both of our dates ditched us at the last minute.(Jerks...but we won't get into that) So when she got there it was just her and I. We decided we would be eachothers date. We sat at a table meant for 8 because we were told to save a table for everyone from the restaurant. Yeah...none of them showed up until really late. Like after the dance. So during dinner we sat at this huge table by ourselves. haha. We made up names for the imaginary people who were sitting with us. To my left sat Sue and her husband Herald. They own a farm just outside of Brandon. To Heralds left sat Agnus. She's suffers from Alzheimers. She's a friend of Annette's grandma. Then to her left sat Luke and his girlfriend. More like flavor of the week because he didn't know her name and was too embarassed to ask what it was. Then there was Shawn. Shawn was a lot like us. A friend of the bride but no one else he knew was there. That's right people. We were bored. Just sitting and making up people. Later, when Annette was doing her rounds, she stopped and talked to us. We told her what we were doing and I guess she missed the part about them being imaginary. haha. She was like, I don't know any of those people. There are so many people here I don't know who they are. We told her that it's ok if she didn't remember these people because they were made up. She looked a little confused but understood. I think she thinks that we are really weird now. haha.
She told us that people kept asking her who those two girls were sitting in the back of the room by themselves. haha. We must have looked like the biggest losers. Great times. We were going to sit across from eachother so that we would have to yell when we were speaking. I think that would have looked halarious. Instead we just kept on sitting beside eachother.
I was really impressed with Annette's husband. When I saw him at the restaurant he was always so calm and reserved. At the wedding...he was crazy and fun and so social. After he was done eating his dinner he went around the entire room and introduced himself and chatted. (It was entirely her family and friends there. He had one table where he knew everyone. His family lives in Texas and couldn't make it out for the wedding.) After dinner was all cleaned up the speaches started. I especially liked the story of Annette when she was two. (Her husband is black and she is white.) When she was two she had a bus toy that was full of children. There was one black boy and she took a special liking to him. She took him everywhere. The bathtub. The park. Everywhere. He was her best friend. Her sister said that she should have known then that Annette would have chosen an African american man for her husband. It was so funny during the speaches that her intire family kept calling him African American. He was like, I'm black. It's ok to say that. haha. When the dancing started he kept saying...everyone do the African American dance. haha. He was totally mocking them. haha.
During the speeches they kept calling him Clarence. I was like, who is Clarence??? Because he always goes by the name Anthony(which is his last name). Then they really started confusing me when his brother came up and started talking about Jerome. I was like who's that???? Again another name he goes by(his family calls him Jerome). By the end of the night I didn't know his name anymore. haha. I was like, hey you. haha. It was so sweet after the speeches were done Annette's dad called her out onto the dance floor and made her sit on a chair. He had written her and Clarence/Jerome/Anthony a song. If you know Annette she never cries. During the wedding she only cried 3 times in total. Once when her sister was giving a speech, a second time when her sister was giving her a pep talk outside and a third time when her dad sang this song. I think everyone was crying. (I know I was...but I concealed it so that no one would know my mortal status). Clarence/Jerome/Anthony(a.k.a CJA) was out on the dance floor the whole night teaching everyone dances to all his favorite songs. It was so funny. What a great guy. After the wedding was over I went home and crashed. What a long day. I didn't get home until 1am.
Now that brings us to Sunday. Yesterday. I first went to the morning service. After the service was over we(my friends Jodi and Justin) went out for lunch. We went to a place called Gullivers. Yum. I had a Hawaiian salad. It was great. Justin works for the cable internet company. I asked him if he ever gets really stupid questions. He said that he did all the time. He said that all the jokes that are made(like having to tell people to plug in their computers before it will work) are true. He told us this one really funny story that these people had a theory that they couldn't have their internet plugged in while their fridge was plugged in. He said it was so funny because before they would plug in their computer they would unplug the fridge. This was because across the street there was construction going on and they were using up all the power supply. ha. Where do people get this stuff.
Jodi, is a school teacher and has a million funny stories to tell. I told her that she needs to start her own blog or at least write her stories down. So I will not say her stories in case she starts her blog then we can all read them together.
After lunch I went to the drama practice for the Christmas play. It was so funny. I think they all try to make me laugh. Once I start I can't seem to stop. We did that for 4 and a half hours. When we were doing the nativity scene the guy playing my husband and the girl playing my daughter were both making the doll(who was playing the baby in the manger) dance to the songs the choir was singing. There was at one point where I wasn't really paying attention to what was around me and I elbowed the doll in the head. Everyone in the drama laughed at me and said I wouldn't make a very good mom. haha. I was relieved that it was just the doll.
After the drama practice we had young adults. But first we had a little bible study with the choir. I was lying down on a pew listening. I wasn't asleep but I snored a couple of times. hahahahaha. My friends were like, Michelle wake up. I was like, what???I'm praying I'm not sleeping. I was like, oops I was just really relaxed. I've never done that before. Snore? When you're awake???? Wierd. For young adults last night it was setting up the tree that the choir stands in. Man that's a lot of work. But it was a lot of fun at the same time.
The senior pastor was my partner for putting up the green stuff on the tree. It was so funny. He kept showing me the easy way of doing the job..but I couldn't figure out the tool so I kept doing it the hard way. I asked him...isn't there a parable about this? He just laughed at me. He's a really little guy and he makes fun of his size all the time. During the sermon yesterday(during the morning service) he said, you probably look at me like, what is that little man doing up there...but now with this huge tree behind me(and he looked behind him and got mad at the tree for being so big) I look ten times smaller. hahahaha. He's so funny.
He reminds me of Bill Marcum. You know...really passionate but always going off on a tangent. haha.
After we set up the tree a few of us went to Mc Donalds for a bit of a social time. We were all girls so of course the subject of boys came up. It was funny. We all talked about what we look for in a guy and all that stuff. I had a really good time. After all that I came home and went to bed. It felt like that weekend was 48 hours long. (haha...I just wanted to see if you were paying attention). Seriously though I'm kind of glad it's over.
Until the next funny story emerges.
Peace Out
Michelle

I'm sorry it's taken me so long to comment. Actually, I'm commenting right away after I finished reading this entry, so I should be more sorry that it took me so long to check back for a new post.
You made me laugh a lot this time. I loved the imaginary guests. My favourite was the guy who didn't know his date's name and was too afraid to ask. haha
I wonder why everyone was wondering who you two were at that back table? Was it because there were only 2 of you sitting at such a big table? Or was it because even though there were only 2 of you, your table was the most fun and they wanted to know how you did it.
Next time, do the sitting across from each other and yelling. That would be funny!
Sounds like you had a great weekend!
